WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Schofield woman accused of providing the drugs that led to a fatal overdose in June 2025 may have a plea deal with prosecutors.
Marisa Arne is accused of selling drugs to the man in the parking lot of the Wausau library. He was found dead at his home later that same day, with toxicology reports showing fentanyl in his system along with signs that he may have suffered a heart attack.
Arne faces a felony count for reckless homicide by delivery of drugs, along with two counts of felony bail jumping. She had been scheduled for trial later this month, but during a pretrial conference on Thursday, both sides indicated they would like to schedule a plea hearing, which was slotted for August 13th.
Terms of the deal won’t be known until then. The 30-year-old faces more than 60 years in the state prison system on the reckless homicide charge.
