SAN DIEGO, CA (WSAU) The Brewers opened their second west coast road trip this month with a 3-2 loss to the Padres.
Trailing by a run in the 7th, San Diego’s Jackson Merrill hit a two-run homer to center to put the Padres up for good.
The Padres have won 13 of their last 17 games, and are 1 game out of the final wildcard spot.
The Brewers still have the best record in baseball at 74-45, but their lead in the NL central is down to just five games over the Cubs, who were off on Monday.
