MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — Police took four people into custody after executing a search warrant at a home on Grand Avenue in Merrill last week.
According to a Facebook post, officers received a tip regarding a wanted individual in the home earlier this month. Officers then enlisted help from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and surrounded the home on Wednesday, August 19th. After being given verbal commands, one suspect came out of the house and was arrested without incident. He’s identified as Nicholas Teal, who was wanted on first-degree reckless homicide and other charges.
A search of the home led to two additional arrests. Officers also located large amounts of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The homeowner, Edward Duellman, was then arrested for multiple charges, including maintaining a drug trafficking place.
Officers noted that multiple drug-related search warrants have been executed at this home, leading a judge to order it remain vacant until further notice.
Court records show Teal is now facing multiple drug-related charges in addition to a count of reckless homicide by delivery of drugs. He is now being held on a $10,000 cash bond and is due in court on September 4th.
Previous convictions against him include resisting or obstructing an officer, criminal damage to property, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
Duellman was released on a $5,000 signature bond late last week with several conditions, including no contact with Teal and others who were in the home at the time of the incident. He must also maintain absolute sobriety. No further court action against him was immediately scheduled.
