Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Five Brewers had multiple hits in a 6-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Friday.
William Contreras led the way, going 2-4 with three RBI. Christian Yelich went 3-5 with one RBI, and Jake Bauers went 2-2 with three walks and two runs scored.
Sal Frelick and David Hamilton each added two hits. Jackson Chourio went 1-5 with an RBI.
Logan Henderson went seven innings and allowed just one hit, a solo home run to Rangers Catcher Danny Jansen in the 3rd inning. Henderson also recorded seven strikeouts and didn’t give up a walk.
Aaron Ashby pitched the 8th, allowing one hit and one walk to earn a hold. DL Hall struck out the side in the 9th.
Milwaukee is now 84-51 and reduced its magic number to clinch a playoff spot to 15. Game two of the weekend series is tonight, with coverage beginning at 5:40 on WSAU.
