MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Badgers notched their first football win of the season, 36-9, over Western Illinois.
Abu Sama III ran for a 72-yard touchdown on the first play of the game to put the Badgers in front early. Sama ginished with a career high 107-yard rushing.
Carson Van Dinter blocked a punt, recovered in the end zone, for another score in the first quarter.
Kicker Gavin Lahm hit field goals of 30, 49, and 51-yards.
Quarterback Colton Joseph was 12-of-22 for 173 yards and one touchdown.
The Badgers host Eastern Michigan next Saturday.
