STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The man accused of killing Jeanette Pientka in her Portage County home in July has been bound over for trial.
Court records show Lyndon Hood will be tried for one count of first-degree intentional homicide. Investigators say he stabbed Pientka multiple times at her home in the Town of Carson, then fled the scene. The 57-year-old was found unresponsive by a visitor some time later. They called for help and attempted life-saving measures, but she died at the scene.
The 60-year-old did not enter a plea for the charge. Records also show the court granted his request for a new judge, and no action was taken on his requested bond modification.
Court documents say Hood and his girlfriend, Sara Pientka, had just been evicted from their home. Sara, Jeanette’s sister, has already been sentenced for her role in the case. She’s serving jail time for failing to report the crime and withholding information from investigators.

Further court action is scheduled for September 28th. Hood faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty at trial.
