CONLEY COMMENTARY (WSAU) – Wilber Rafael Garces Perez, the man shot by ICE agents in Autsin, should not have been in the United States. Full stop.
He entered the country in 2024 under a Biden program where illegals could apply for entry using an app. Such a program was never approved by Congress, and has since been discontinued. Preez missed his asylum hearing. He claims the court sent the hearing notice to the wrong address. You would think keeping up with the court would be the number one priority for someone hoping to stay in the country. When he was a no-show, a final order of deportation was issued. Yet, there he was, working as a Door-Dasher.
The circumstances leading up to his being wounded are still being investigated. ICE agents identified him as someone in the country illegally by his license plate.
Now, he’s filed a lawsuit. A judge has already ruled he cannot be removed while the case is pending. He’s currently in an ICE facility. His lawyer will move to get him released. The likely outcome is that he will remain in the United States indefinitely.
We were also told that the protests that erupted after the shooting on Sunday were a spontaneous display of outrage. Not quite. They were engineered and promoted by three groups: the Democrat Socialists of America, the Freedom Road Socialists, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. They sent out email blasts telling their members where and when to gather. Rocks and bottles were thrown at officers, three people were arrested.
All three of these rent-a-mob groups were active during violent protests in Minneapolis and Newark. The Party for Socialism and Liberation deserves special mention. They’re funded by American billionaire Neville Roy Singman, who lives in communist China.
The folly of open borders is still on full display.
