Wisconsin Badgers
MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin hockey teams both cruised to non-conference victories on Friday, with the men defeating Robert Morris University (PA) and the women topping Boston University.
The men got four goals from four different players in a 4-2 win. Luke Osborne, Dylan Compton, and Bruno Idzan helped the Badgers build a 3-0 lead after two. The Colonials fought back with a power play goal early in the 3rd, but Finn Brink would score midway through the frame to put the game out of reach for the visitors.
Goaltender Alexis Cournoyer made 16 saves.
Wisconsin and RMU play again tonight at the Kohl Center. Face-off is at 7 PM; there will be no radio coverage on WSAU.
Just down the block, the women scored a 4-1 victory over Boston University. Cassie Hall scored twice after the Terriers took a 1-0 lead. Nela Lopusanova and Laney Potter added third-period goals to put the game on ice.
Ava McNaughton made 13 saves to preserve the win.
Wisconsin swept the two-game series over BU and is now 4-0 on the season. They skate into WCHA play next weekend at Ohio State.
