CONLEY COMMENTARY (WSAU) – Another round of No Kings rallies took place over the weekend. The rally in Rib Mountain was smaller, but louder. More of the Trump haters were engaging with passing drivers, both for and against.
Never mind that these rallies are organized and funded by a tech billionaire who lives in China. It’s true; look it up.
But I have some questions for the protesters. If Donald Trump is a king, why are so many things that he wants unaccomplished. Look at the east wing of the White House. If Trump was a king, surely his new ballroom wouldn’t be tangled up in court. Look at immigration. For a king, Donald Trump loses a lot of deportation cases in court. Donald Trump, if he were a king, certainly would have put controls on mail-in voting.
Trump even loses on small things. He’s lost control of the Kennedy Center and which reporters are and aren’t allowed in the Oval Office. A king would have his way on all of these things.
And when Donald Trump loses in court, he follows the rule of law. I know, there are some people who disagree with me who are yelling at their radios about immigration flights to third countries. I would remind you that it was judge James Boasberg who didn’t follow proper procedures. He issued a verbal ruling from the bench, and his written order came hours later–when the flights had already landed. An appeals court shut down his contempt hearings against the President.
No, Donald Trump is not a king. Those who say he is are either knowingly promoting a false narrative or are showing their own derangement.
