Jacob A F Lo
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Weston man facing multiple felony trials before the end of the year has had one of those proceedings canceled for now.
Jacob Lo, 23, was scheduled to face a two-day trial beginning Nov. 18 for charges stemming from an August high-speed chase through the Wausau area. Court records show his attorney requested the postponement Wednesday, indicating Lo is withdrawing his demand for a speedy trial. A status conference will take place on that date instead.
Lo faces felony counts of fleeing an officer, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, property damage, and bail jumping. Authorities say the pursuit began in Wausau, wound through Rib Mountain and Kronenwetter, and ended in Weston when Lo crashed into a squad car. He attempted to run on foot but was quickly taken into custody.
The chase took place during heavy midday traffic, leading to at least two other vehicle collisions and one near-miss. Officers had initially attempted to stop Lo on an arrest warrant for attempted homicide. Those charges stem from an early August shooting at a Wausau bar that left one person injured.

The attempted homicide case remains scheduled for a four-day trial beginning Dec. 14. Lo also faces separate misdemeanor charges for battery and domestic abuse.
If convicted on all counts, he faces decades in prison.
