MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man facing more than a dozen charges in connection with a high-speed chase in Lincoln County has been scheduled for a plea hearing.
Nicholas Langston is facing eight felony counts, including first- and second-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer, and multiple counts of felony bail jumping after a high-speed chase in late May.
The incident started when officers tried to pull the 35-year-old over, knowing he was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Langston sped off, sparking a chase that reached speeds of 130 miles per hour.
Officers terminated the chase for public safety. They caught up to him at a bar in Tomahawk, where he was arrested without incident.
A plea hearing is scheduled for December 11. Court records show it will also cover an outstanding OWI and fines.
Langston faces seven and a half years in prison on the most serious offense, first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
