STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The Stevens Point man facing hit-and-run and OWI charges has died.
According to an obituary published earlier this week, Samuel Milkey died on August 8th, “[losing] his lifelong battle with mental illness,” according to his family.
The 30-year-old had been accused of striking a pedestrian on Thursday, August 6th, while he was driving along Jordan Road in the Town of Hull. Court records indicate that a motion to dismiss the charges, including hit-and-run and injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle, was filed on Tuesday.
He had posted a $75,000 cash bond just before his death.
