GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – A new poll of NFL executives predicts that one of the Packers’ top receivers will be this season’s breakout player.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden is highly regarded among league executives, with one AFC executive saying, “I’m not really sure why they didn’t use him, but I loved him coming out. He can fly.”
Golden, who was selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, is expected to get a lot of targets this season as Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks are gone, Savion Williams is starting the season on IR, and many are still concerned that Christian Watson won’t be able to stay healthy for the full season.
FantasyPros projects that Golden will record 56.3 receptions, 728.9 receiving yards, 4.4 touchdowns, and 102.7 fantasy points for the 2026 season.
Other predictions by the anonymous executives included Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow winning MVP, Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs winning offensive player of the year, Texans pass rusher Will Anderson winning defensive player of the year, and Seahawks running back Jadarian Price winning offensive rookie of the year.
