MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — It was an informational meeting on the proposed aquatic center project in Marshfield Wednesday night, and residents got a preview of what the proposed outdoor swimming complex could possibly look like.
Ben Lee chairs the city’s “pool study committee,” and says that after weighing numerous options and concepts, the meeting was a chance for the committee to present their recommended design plan. “Right now we’ve got out here our one plan. This is our suggestion. So we’re putting out our one plan here for people to come in, tell us what they like and what they don’t like, and then we’ll adjust accordingly.”
The recommended plan features four different water “vessels,” including both a main pool and a lap pool, a water slide, and a feature called a ‘water journey.’ Lee explained that, “We’ve got drawings of what we think it should look like, as well as details of what all the features are.”
That proposed aquatic center plan also includes a current channel, spray jets, a water play structure, and a climbing wall.
If you missed Wednesday’s meeting, you can still comment on the project by contacting Marshfield’s Park and Rec. Department at parkrec@ci.marshfield.wi.us. The committee wants to compile citizens’ comments and present them to city leaders by early next year.
“If anybody’s got any comments,” Lee said, “our goal is to put all the comments together and get them to the City Council by January.”
