MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) Former Marshfield city council member and radio broadcaster Jack Hackman has died. He was 85.
Hackman served three terms on the Marshfield City Council, and was a well-known radio voice in the Marshfield area for 40 years. Hackman was the long time play-by-play voice of Marshfield Tigers and Columbus High School Dons sports. Marshfield’s baseball field is named in his honor.
Hackman was General Manager of Geotz Broadcasting and is a member of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Hackman died Tuesday, surrounded by family. His funeral will be at 11:30am Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield.
