WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — First Presbyterian Church in Wausau held its 50th annual Friends’ Thanksgiving Dinner event Thursday.
After several months of collecting donations, church volunteers prepared food Wednesday. Thursday morning, they delivered more than 400 meals to Wausau and Rib Mountain homes.
Co-coordinator Korrin Black tells WAOW-TV that the 50th anniversary is a big thing for many people.
“It is a big deal. We’ve had quite a few people who are alumni who’ve been able to stop in and volunteer or they’ve called to share some memories. We’re big into feeding ministry, but this is definitely one of the highlights of the year.”
The church later served a traditional Thanksgiving meal in the early afternoon.
