GREEN BAY, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Packers confirmed yesterday that Brett Favre will be honored during Green Bay’s Thanksgiving Night game against Chicago. The three-time M-V-P quarterback join a short list of players with retired numbers, as shown on the stadium’s north end zone facade.
Only Don Hutson, Tony Canadeo, Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke, and Reggie White have had their Green Bay numbers retired. Favre will officially have his Number-Four jersey retired when he’s inducted into the Packers’ Hall-of-Fame on July 18th.
Also, the Packers said they would honor former general manager Ron Wolf during the November 15th home game against Detroit. Wolf already has his name on the northeast corner of the Lambeau facade, one level below the Packers’ ring of honorees who’ve made the national Pro Football Hall-of-Fame.
Wolf will be inducted at Canton on August 8th, so his name will be moved next to the Hall-of-Famers listed on the stadium’s east side. Wolf said it would put an “exclamation point” on his career.
