STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) The UWSP mens basketball team beat River Falls 58-51 on Saturday night at the Karges Center in River Falls. The Pointers were led by Jordan Lutz who scored a career high 24 points. Joe Ritchay added 12 points and six rebounds.
The Pointers are now 13-3, 7-0 in the WIAC and will travel to Whitewater on Wednesday.
The UWSP womens basketball team dropped their matchup with River falls 69-64 Saturday at Berg Gym. The Pointersd led 64-60 with 1:20 remaining before River Falls finished on a 9-0 run.
Mickey Roland led the Pointers with 13 points and eight rebounds.Lauren Anklam had 12.
UWSP, now 8-8, 3-4 in the WIAC, returns to action Wednesday as they host Whitewater.
The UWSP mens hockey team dropped their matchup with River Falls on Saturday night 4-2 at KB Willet Arena. The Falcons broke a 1-1 tie with 3 unanswered goals.
Lawrence Cornellier and Scott Henegar had the Pointer goals.
UWSP will return to action at Superior this Friday and Saturday.
The UWSP womens hockey team rallied for a 7-5 win at Lake Forest on Saturday. The Pointers trailed 5-2 in the final minute of the second period before coming back. Emily Lester had two goals for the Pointers who move to 12-5-1.
