MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — The 17th Annual Marshfield Rotary Winter Wonderland opens Friday evening at the Wildwood Zoo complex.
Danielle Nystrom says this year’s event will once again have more than 1 million lights, including some new displays. “We will also have horse-drawn wagon rides every Saturday through Christmas, Santa on the weekends, and some live music that will be played throughout the season.”
Admission is free but guests are encouraged to bring canned food items that will be distributed to local food pantries. Nystrom says those items will be distributed throughout Central Wisconsin to those in need.
“We’re asking our guests to be generous in order to support the people in our community,” added Nystrom.
The walking portion of the display takes about 25 minutes. There is also a drive-through display which can be done in about ten.
Nystrom says they are still looking for musicians who would like to perform during the event. Those interested should contact them through their Facebook page.
