HOUSTON, TEX (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Houston Astros 4-2 on Saturday before3 dropping a 9-4 matchup on Sunday.
Saturday saw William Contreras hit a two-out, three run homer in a 13 pitch at-bat against Justin Verlander to give the Brewers the lead in the fifth inning. Blake Perkins had the other RBI.
Hoby Milner picked up the win in relief as the Brewers bullpen pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings. Trevor Megill picked up his 6th save.
Sunday saw Brewers starter Colin Rea struggle giving up five runs on eight hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out five.
The Brewers cut a 6-1 deficit to 6-4 with three runs in the 7th but the Astros answered with three of their own in the bottom of the inning.
Brice Turang and Christian Yelich had two RBIs each for Milwaukee.
The Brewers, now 27-19, head to Miami for a three game series against the Marlins starting Monday night. Pre game show at 5:05 on WSAU.
