GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers will be without two key players until training camp begins in August due to pectoral injuries.
According to Head Coach Matt LaFleur, who spoke after OTAs on Tuesday, it’s unknown how tight end Tucker Kraft and tackle Zach Tom suffered the injuries, but he confirmed that neither player is expected to participate in full practice until August. When asked about the level of concern the team has about their availability for Week 1, LaFleur stated that he does not expect either injury to cause “long-term concern” and called the injuries an “unfortunate coincidence” that both key players would have the same injury.
In place of Zach Tom, first-round pick Jordan Morgan spent time at both right and left tackle, while veteran Andre Dillard also saw reps at right tackle during practice on Tuesday.
LaFleur also addressed running back Josh Jacobs sitting out of practice and going through rehab workouts on the sidelines, saying that Jacobs is currently dealing with a hamstring injury and it’s not known if he’ll be able to go through drills before training camp.
