WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — The man accused of causing the death of Nicole Sandoval has entered a not guilty plea for one count of reckless homicide.
Alec Beach entered the plea on Friday. Investigators say he and Sandoval, who was his girlfriend at the time, were arguing along the side of a road in the Town of Auburndale. Eventually, Beach got into a pickup and took off while Sandoval was hanging on to the driver’s side with her feet on the running boards and hands gripping the partially rolled-down window.
Beach is accused of swerving as he drove away, throwing Sandoval from the vehicle to the pavement. Autopsy results show she died of blunt-force trauma.
The 23-year-old has been bound over for trial and is being held on a $1 million bond. A scheduling conference is scheduled for January 10th. If found guilty he faces up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.
