GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – One of the Green Bay Packers all-time greats returned to Titletown on Wednesday to speak on behalf of former President Trump during his campaign stop at the Resch Center.
According to Fox 11, many of the former president’s supporters and Packers fans waited outside since sunrise to get good seats during the rally not just to see Trump but to see Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Farve.
“I think there’s never been a more important time in our lives than right now, in this election. Much like the Packers organization, Donald Trump and his organization are a winner and the United States of America won with his leadership,” Farve said during his speech.
“There has never been a more important moment in our lives than right now, during these elections. The stakes are incredibly high. Families across Wisconsin are struggling to make ends meet. People’s salaries have not kept up with inflation. It is becoming increasingly difficult for young people to buy their first home. People are losing hope in the American dream,” he continued.
Farve was joined by current Packers running back A.J. Dillon, who did not give a speech but was in attendance with his wife Gabrielle Toonen in the front row. Dillon signed a one-year deal with the team this offseason, saying he wants to be “a Packer for life,” and was placed on season-ending IR by the time the season began due to a neck injury.
Farve made national headlines last month when he announced during congressional testimony on Capitol Hill that he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, which he attributes to the concussions he suffered during his time in the league. His consecutive start’s record of 297 games (321 including playoffs) still stands to this day and is widely considered one of the most unbreakable records in all of sports.
