MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — A second person has died from COVID-19 related causes in Lincoln County.
Friday evening the Lincoln County Health Department confirmed a second death associated with COVID-19. The individual was in their 60s and had underlying health conditions. Health Department Director and Health Officer Shelley Hersil say in the release, “We are saddened by the loss of one of our community members. We extend our sympathies to their loved ones and all impacted.”
The release goes on to say COVID-19 can cause serious health complications and death to those who test positive especially among those who are older or have chronic health conditions. Lincoln County has had 17 COVID-19 hospitalizations since September 1st.
The Health Department urges residents to wash their hands regularly, having physical distance, wearing face coverings, and staying home when sick to have a huge impact on the health and safety of Lincoln County.
