STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A Plover man has been arrested for theft and burglary after a 21-year-old Stevens Point woman reported her underwear missing.
John P Stalker is accused of breaking into the woman’s home and stealing all of her underwear from her dresser. The woman noted that nothing else was missing from her bedroom, and none of her roommates’ belongings were missing.
Investigators used surveillance footage from nearby homes to piece together a timeline of the incident, leading to the 41-year-old’s arrest.
Stalker appeared in court on Wednesday, facing one felony count of burglary and three counts of bail jumping, which stemmed from previous stalking cases. Additional charges are possible, as police are investigating at least one similar incident against him.
During a search of his home, officers also found additional women’s underwear that didn’t belong to the two known victims. They are asking anyone who may have experienced a similar theft to contact the Stevens Point PD at 715-346-1500.
Stalker is being held on a $40,000 cash bond and will return to court on June 22nd. Additional charges against him are pending.
