GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — Aaron Rodgers sat out the game with back stiffness and the Green Bay Packers lost to the Baltimore Ravens 26-13 in pre-season football action Thursday night in Baltimore.
Rodgers, who was expected to play one quarter in the game, was a late scratch as a “precautionary” measure. Coach Matt La Fleur says it should not cause him to miss practice time this week.
His replacements had a mixed night. Deshone Kizer struggled going 5-10 for just 70 yards. Tim Boyle was 12-21 for 107 yards and a 7 yard TD pass to Darrius Sheppard. Sheppard had 3 catches as did Allen Lazard.
Most of the Packer starters played with the exception of running backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams.
The starting defense played well holding the Ravens #1 offense to a couple of field goals.
The Packers are 1-1 in the preseason and will play the Oakland Raiders next Thursday in Winnipeg.
