MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers only had two hits on Tuesday night but it was enough to top the Chicago Cubs 2-1 at American Family Field.
Christian Yelich drove in a run with a double in the first inning and Jace Peterson had an RBI single in the 5th and the Brewers pitching staff made it stand up.
Brandon Woodruff went six innings giving up one run on four hits. He struck out eight and walked three. Brent Suter, Jake Cousins, Brad Boxberger and Josh Hader combined on three scoreless innings to ice the win.
Milwaukee, now 47-33, will host the Cubs in day baseball today. Rookie Aaron Ashby will make his major league debut on the mound for the Brewers against Jake Arrieta. Pre game show at 12:35 on WSAU.
