The Greater Wausau Chamber is set to announce the winners of the 2022 Small Businesses of the Year as part of Small Business Week.
The nominees are as follows:
Business to Consumer: Four Seasons Heating and Air, Inspired Designs LLC, Lamb’s Fresh Market, Radant Advantage Insurance, and WOW Family Entertainment Center
Charitable Non-Profit: Achieve Center INC, Good News Project, Health First Network INC, McLit: Marathon County Literacy Council INC, The Open Door of Marathon County, and Wisconsin Automotive and Truck Education Association
There was no Business to Business category this year.
The winners will be named during the Small Business of the Year event at the Hilton Garden Inn of Rib Mountain at 4 PM.
Then at 6 PM, the full Schofield City Council will take up a proposal to move City Hall as part of plans to redevelop the land that the building currently sits on. The plan passed the city’s Public Property Committee late last week on a unanimous vote, though some on the committee expressed concerns about access to City Hall in a new location and the traffic that could come with new residential development in the area.
The issue has been discussed off and on for the better part of a year, but during last Thursday’s meeting Mayor Kregg Hoehn noted that this summer brings a sense of urgency as the RFP for the site will close in July, and residents need to be informed about where their polling place will be three months before the November election.
