WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Marathon County has a new Deputy Administrator.
Chris Holman was named to the position on Monday, coming over from neighboring Portage County where he served as Executive from 2018-2022.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue working in local government here in Marathon County,” shared Holman. “In my previous role as the Portage County Executive, I worked with Marathon County on several issues and got to know the county well through regional conversations, as well as the collective work both Marathon and Portage counties have been involved in through the Wisconsin Counties Association.”
Holman was ousted as Portage County Executive during the February primary election. Challengers Eric Olson and John Pavelski finished first and second in the primary, with Pavelski narrowly winning the seat in the April general election.
He’ll now be responsible for working with Administrator Lance Leonhard and the County Board of Supervisors on day-to-day operations and special projects.
