WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The Wausau city council met on Tuesday night to discuss a resolution to fund a joint fireworks show for the Wausau area.
The City’s finance committee also signed off on the proposal on Marth 28th and the City Council passed the resolution unanimously joining Weston, Rothschild, Schofield, and Rib Mountain to agree to the plan.
Each municipality will have two designated viewing areas with local food trucks and other activities ahead of the official launch.

The executive assistant to the mayor, Jean Frankel, says, “It’s still a little early but for the most part we are going to shoot the fireworks from the airport over the lake so the best viewing spot will be right on the lake.”
Other viewing locations being considered include Airport park, Grace park, Radtke Point, DC Everest landing and Bluegill Bay park.
