GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers had their first OTA practice of the year and a handful of players impressed coaches and media personnel.
The highlight of the practice came during 11-11 drills, when Jordan Love got to face off against some starters on the Packers’ defense.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Jordan Love’s first completion of 11-on-11 came on a crosser to rookie TE Luke Musgrave for a first down with Darnell Savage trailing.
He also threw a nice ball over the middle to Christian Watson for a touchdown.

Love also attempted to throw a deep ball to Christian Watson down the middle. It was a little wobbly and underthrown and fell incomplete with three defenders in the area.
Romeo Doubs’ touchdown catch came off of a tight throw from Jordan Love about 10 yards out.
The duo did connect early on though on a touchdown pass toward the sideline.
When asked about Love’s performance after practice head coach Matt LaFleur said, “A lot of good things and a lot to clean up,” he continued by saying “We’ve got to see what everybody else around him can do, too.”
Love went 6-for-16 in the first open OTA (and second of the week). Three were tipped or knocked down, one was dropped, and one was almost picked off, according Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Schneidman reported that rookie Jayden Reed had a fumble after a catch, and the defense recovered. Reed attempted to fall on the ball, which Matt LaFleur did not appreciate due to the risk of getting hurt.
Packers will return to practice tomorrow before the holiday weekend fully begins.
