Keyiondra Smith Chamness
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Court records show a Central Wisconsin man facing multiple charges across four open cases has a tentative plea hearing scheduled for Friday.
Keyiondra Smith-Chamness is facing one felony count for exposing a child to harmful materials, a felony which comes with up to 3.5 years in prison and thousands in fines.
Smith-Chamness had been scheduled for trial later this month. Those dates have been left on the calendar just in case.
Charges in that case were filed back in May of 2019. But that’s not the only legal trouble the 29-year-old has faced in the last few years.
While out on bond in the 2019 case, Smith-Chamness was accused of impersonating a firefighter and trying to help first responders during an incident at a boat landing north of Wausau. Officials with the Maine Fire Department said he had previously sought employment with the department but was turned down.
Officials with the department said he had also snuck onto an engine as crews were en route to a call, even though he wasn’t employed by the department or any other agency in the area.
He also faces a count for failing to notify a school of his status as a sex offender and numerous felony counts of bail jumping.
