MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers broke up a no-hit bid in the 7th to score a 1-0 win over San Diego on getaway day for both clubs.
Willy Adames reached base on a single into shallow right field for the Crew’s first hit of the game. Milwaukee would then string together hits from Brice Turang and Blake Perkins. Turang singled to left with one out in the 8th, then stole second. Perkins would bring him home on a ground ball through the infield.
Those were the only three hits of the game for Milwaukee. Jackson Chourio finished the game 0-3 with two strikeouts Rhys Hoskins went 0-2 with a walk.
Bryse Wilson started the game and pitched 3.2 innings. He gave up two hits and a walk. Bryan Hudson went 2.1 and allowed just one walk.
Elvis Peguero, Abner Uribe, and Joel Payamps pitched one inning each and allowed just three hits. Uriebe was credited with the win, Payamps earned the save.
Milwaukee improves to 11-6. They’ll be off on Thursday before heading to St. Louis for the start of a three-game set with the Cardinals on Friday. Pregame coverage begins at 6:40 PM on WSAU.
