WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office has released more information as they search for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident in the Town of Reid.
Officers say two bicyclists were struck by a mid-2000s Lexus IS250. The impact sent both bicyclists into the ditch, causing serious injuries to one of them. Officers say the vehicle had several unique features including a different front-left wheel and a black hood.
The victims added that the passenger side rear view mirror was knocked off the car and left at the scene. The vehicle also had front-end damage prior to the incident and was described as having a “loud exhaust.”

Officers believe the vehicle might be in the process of being rebuilt and may not be registered. A photo of the vehicle was released and is attached to this story.

Both of the victims were wearing helmets at the time. No update on their condition has been given.
