MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Two former Wisconsin Badgers forwards are helping Team USA’s men’s basketball team get ready to play on the big stage.
According to USA Basketball, both Nigel Hayes-Davis and Micah Potter, former stars at the University of Wisconsin, were selected to play for the USA Select Team during scrimmages which will help the main team prepare to play in Paris later this month.
Hayes-Davis, 29, has spent the last two seasons overseas with Fenerbahçe, averaging 13.8 points, and 4.6 rebounds and assists per game this past season making him the team’s top scorer and earning him All-EuroLeague first-team honors this year.
Meanwhile, Potter, 26, has split his time since leaving the Badgers between the Utah Jazz and the Salt Lake City Stars, their G-League affiliate. Potter had 16 appearances for the Jazz, averaging 11.6 minutes per game.
