RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Rhinelander School District announced that repairs to the Hodag Dome are progressing. The Dome was successfully re-inflated last week, and interior repairs and lighting upgrades are already underway.
According to Arizon, the building’s manufacturer, the Dome will be ready for Rhinelander High School’s graduation ceremony on June 1. The final venue decision will be determined next week.
The maintenance staff is working on patching remaining internal holes and improving lighting on the tennis court side to increase safety. Repairs to the tennis courts and track, which were damaged by an ice storm in March, are still pending but are being prioritized.
“We are incredibly grateful to our School District of Rhinelander maintenance team, the Arizon team, CD Smith, and the City of Rhinelander for their hard work and continued support throughout this process,” Superintendent Eric Burke said. “The progress we’ve made is a testament to the power of collaboration and community.”
The district will continue to keep the community informed of the progress and will announce the graduation venue decision next week.
