Wausau Woodchucks
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A Northwoods League all-star will return to the Wausau Woodchucks for the 2023 season.
Brent Widder, a 2022 league all-star for the Woodchucks, has signed with Wausau and will return to the team this summer.
Sheboygan native Widder led the Chucks in batting average (.286) while also leading the team in hits (44), doubles (11), home runs (two), RBI (twenty), runs scored (30), and on-base percentage (.389).
Widder was named preseason all-Missouri Valley Conference after being named first-team all-conference in 2022 and is the 20th-ranked prospect in the Major League Baseball draft, according to D1baseball.com.
On Monday, May 29, the Woodchucks begin their 30th season of Northwoods League Baseball in Madison.
